SSWH1 Monotheism and Polytheism Double Bubble Thinking Map: Students will create a Double Bubble Thinking Map comparing and contrasting Hebrew Monotheism to Asian/ Egyptian/ Olmec Polytheism by reviewing textbook Mesopotamia (Ch. 1, Lesson 3 – p. 14-17), Ancient Egypt (Ch. 2, Lesson 1 – p. 26-30), Ancient India or Indus Valley (Ch. 2, Lesson 3 – p. 36-39), Ancient China (Ch. 2, Lesson 4 – p. 40-43), Olmec (Ch. 2, Lesson 5 - p. 45-46). Students should also read primary source selections from the Hebrew "Flood Stories" from the Torah and "Flood Story" from the Epic of Gilgamesh (Link below) where they will compare and contrast the two accounts through a Double Bubble Thinking Map.
